JMC Makes Investment in Spintech

JMC Venture LLC (JMC) is pleased to announce it has made an investment in Spintech Holdings, Inc. (Spintech), the aerospace holding company of Smart Tooling and Hawthorn Composites, as of July 6th, 2020. The investment highlights JMC’s continued interest in engineering and supporting the next generation of aerospace and defense development for years to come.
Smart Tooling offers a variety of cutting edge solutions to support composite part manufacturing solutions. The flexible tooling is an industry game changer that uses proprietary shape memory polymer composites to create high quality reusable tooling for the manufacturing of complex geometries and trapped volume parts. By simplifying the manufacturing process, customers reduce overall production time and costs, while achieving better-quality results. They are currently flying on 13 platforms, and clients include companies such as: Boeing, Airbus, Collins Aerospace, NASA, General Atomics, Safran, SpaceX, Cessna, and Kratos.
Hawthorn Composites is a composite parts designer and manufacturer that leverages the proprietary Smart Tooling technology. Hawthorn works closely with aerospace and defense customers to re-engineer complex geometry composite parts to take advantage of lower cost materials and novel manufacturing processes to deliver equivalent quality and performance with significant savings compared to current composite manufacturing techniques. Clients include Zone 5, Kratos and others.
